Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
A research-backed method for treating trauma, anxiety, and distressing life experiences.
Reprocessing the Past. Reclaiming the Present.
Sometimes, the past doesn’t stay in the past. It might show up in the form of anxiety that won’t settle, sudden reactions that feel out of proportion, or memories that play on repeat at the worst possible times.
EMDR therapy is an evidence-based approach designed to help people heal from the lingering effects of trauma, difficult experiences, or painful memories. Whether you’ve lived through something “big” or you’re carrying the weight of ongoing stress, EMDR can help your brain and body process what happened—so it doesn’t keep holding you back.
How EMDR Works
Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR doesn’t require you to go into detail about the experience. Instead, we use bilateral stimulation (like eye movements, tapping, or tones) while gently guiding you through a process that helps the brain "digest" what happened to release the emotional charge attached to it. What EMDR Can Help With:
- Trauma (big T and little t)
- PTSD
- Anxiety and panic
- Grief and loss
- Attachment wounds and relationship distress
- Childhood or developmental trauma
- Performance anxiety and limiting beliefs
Is EMDR Right for You?
While EMDR can be incredibly effective, it’s not the right fit for everyone—and that's okay. During our work together, we'll take time to assess your needs, your nervous system, and your goals for therapy. If EMDR isn't the best match for you, we have other trauma-informed approaches to help you heal safely and effectively. You deserve care that honors where you are and what you need.
A Safe Place to Heal
We know that healing from trauma requires more than just tools—it requires trust, safety, and attunement. Our therapists are trained in EMDR (Maiberger Institute) and experienced in working with a wide range of issues. We’ll go at your pace and collaborate every step of the way.
