Amber Mae Adams, LCSW

Amber

Hi, I’m Amber!

I’m a licensed clinical social worker with over 20 years of experience in the mental health field. I began my career working on a crisis line and later providing in-home support for at-risk youth and their families. These experiences showed me just how resilient people are—and that meaningful change is possible with the right tools and support.

Over the course of my career, I have worked in a variety of settings, including home-based intervention, adolescent residential treatment, and inpatient psychiatric units.  These experiences have allowed me to develop strong clinical skills to support individuals facing a wide range of challenges and diagnoses.

I enjoy working with clients who are ready to “do the work” and actively engage in the therapy process. I typically work with late adolescents, adults, and couples. My areas of interest include depression, anxiety, OCD, perinatal/postpartum mental health (for both moms and dads), relationship concerns, and trauma.

My approach is warm, conversational, and nonjudgmental—while also being direct when it’s helpful. I draw from evidence-based practices including CBT, DBT, and EMDR. I am Level III trained in the Gottman Method for couples therapy and have completed specialized training in perinatal and postpartum mental health.

Outside of work, I enjoy going on adventures with my family and our beloved dog, getting lost in a good book, exploring new restaurants, and getting outdoors. In the winter, you’ll often find me snowboarding.

I recognize the strength it takes to start this process.  I’m ready to offer the support and clinical skills to help you achieve the changes you desire.
